RDA seeking local leaders to join committee
REGIONAL Development Australia Mackay Isaac Whitsunday (RDA MIW) are now accepting applications for the roles of Committee Member and Deputy Chair.
RDA MIW is part of a national network of 52 committees across Australia, including the Indian Ocean Territories and Norfolk Island, made up of local leaders who work with all levels of government, business and community groups to support economic and workforce development, local procurement, strategic regional planning and inform government programs and infrastructure investments.
RDA MIW Committee Chair Professor Pierre Viljoen strongly encouraged local community and business leaders with expertise and desire to generate economic growth opportunities for our region to apply.
“This is a great opportunity for individuals, passionate about advocating for our region.” says Prof. Viljoen.
“Applicants can take confidence in the fact that we are looking to also ensure a balanced gender perspective and diverse representation around the table as we see this as key for getting well-rounded outcomes,” says Prof. Viljoen.
“The stronger our RDA committee, the stronger our communities become.”
The successful candidates must possess strong advocacy skills and be capable of setting the strategic direction and achieving outcomes. The appointment term is from 1 July 2021 to 30th June 2025, in a hands-on role.
Applications close Friday, April 23 2021.
